Marriage & Family Therapy

In marriage and family therapy, the unit of treatment isn't just the person it is the set of relationships in which the person is embedded. Marriage and family therapy, conducted by our on-staff Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, at Valley Natural Health is solution based healing with specific and attainable goals designed with and end in mind. Our licensed marriage and family therapist can treat a wide range of serious clinical issues including depression, marital problems, child-parent issues, anxiety and a host of other psychological issues. Marriage and family therapy can help treat many mental health issues such as affective mood disorders, children’s conduct disorders and many others.

While individual therapy may focus more on what the individual needs to work on personally, MFT examines how one affects both their relationships and themselves as part of a family system or couple. Getting family and loved ones involved in a therapeutic process will offer solutions that are goal-oriented and give tools to the patient they can use while addressing relationship problems, as well as behavioral, when they arise.

At Valley Natural Health, in addition to seeing our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is a mental health professional trained in psychotherapy and family systems, and licensed to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems. MFTs have graduate training (a Master's or Doctoral degree) in marriage and family therapy and at least two years of clinical experience. Marriage and family therapists are recognized as a "core" mental health profession, along with psychiatry, psychology, social work and psychiatric nursing.

As with all therapeutic treatment at Valley Natural Health, there is a medical aspect that will be addressed in the holistic approach to mental and physical well being. Complementary treatment is offered to individuals who would benefit from hormone imbalance assessments, IV nutrient treatment, and overall assessment of physical well being is a core practice.
